DaVinci Resolve<\/strong> has released the new version 16.2<\/strong> with some bug fixes that were in the previous version and with important improvements. Many of them are related to the audio<\/strong> part of Fairlight<\/strong>. With it they want to turn the Fairlight site into a “professional complex audio post production<\/strong> tool with just a mouse and keyboard”. <\/p>\n

With version 16.2, the edit selection<\/strong> mode is now available to everyone<\/strong> without having to have the full Fairlight console. Audio editing is streamlined with new options for fades, cuts and<\/strong> mouse movements in the timeline<\/strong>. The option to render an audio clip<\/strong> from within the timeline has also been added. <\/p>\n

To group audio tracks<\/strong>, you no longer have to access the menu, you can link multichannel tracks directly without having to import again. The new version now supports MPEG-H 3D surround sound<\/strong>, allowing you to monitor and bus surround audio. The import and export of AAF<\/strong> has been improved, the Fairlight effects library<\/strong> incorporates a new and more extensive search engine that allows you to search not only by effect name but also by description, etc… There are many improvements in the fairlight part and to see all of them you can consult them on the official DaVinci Resolve<\/a> website. <\/p>\n

As for the editing<\/strong> page, some changes have also been made to facilitate the editing work. For example, it is now possible to make a composite clip by marking an input and output<\/strong> in the sequence, and for collaborative work<\/strong> it now includes options for displaying timelines by system. <\/p>\n

In the media<\/strong> part we can sort the files by order of inclusion<\/strong> in the project, we can locate the media groups of a clip in a smart container, among other media related to the files in different locations within a project.<\/p>\n

In the color<\/strong> part the improvements have been focused on collaborative systems<\/strong>, making it more stable but also adding some functions for each user to customize their tools<\/strong>. You can customize the values of primary corrections<\/strong> with numeric value, you can disable the output size on individual clips<\/strong>, you can toggle the display<\/strong> type in the scopes<\/strong> between light video or data levels. Related to scopes, you can now display HLG gamma<\/strong> when working in HDR<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Improvements have also been added in the compatibility with different codecs and formats<\/strong>, such as Blackmagic RAW SDK 1.7 or the new customization options for RED RAW.<\/p>\n

As always, the new version of DaVinci Resolve 16.2<\/a> is free<\/strong> and can be downloaded from the official Blackmagic Design website.<\/p>\n
