This is the new <strong>anamorphic lens<\/strong> developed by <strong>Vazen<\/strong>, the makers of<strong> cine lenses<\/strong> and they seem to be specializing in the anamorphic world. The 28mm is the<strong> second<\/strong> anamorphic<strong> lens<\/strong> <strong>after the 40mm<\/strong> they introduced last year and has been a good match for cameras like the Panasonic <strong>GH5<\/strong>, the <strong>Blackmagic Pocket<\/strong> <strong>Cinema Camera 4K<\/strong> or the <strong>Z Cam E2.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<p>The <strong>28mm T2.2<\/strong> thus becomes Vazen&#8217;s <strong>most angular anamorphic lens<\/strong> to date, and for the time being it looks set to stay that way, as among the upcoming releases announced by the manufacturers is another 65mm anamorphic lens. The <strong>aspect ratio<\/strong> of the lens is unchanged from the 40mm, and remains <strong>2.39:1.<\/strong> The lens<strong> compression factor<\/strong> is <strong>1.8x<\/strong>, designed to achieve that aspect ratio.  <\/p>\n<p>Getting into the <strong>physical details<\/strong> of the lens, it is a 28mm with a <strong>front diameter of 80mm<\/strong>. It features a <strong>77mm thread<\/strong> intended for adding any <strong>filter<\/strong> to the lens. The lens, without any added accessories is quite light,<strong>weighing in<\/strong> at0<strong>.72 grams<\/strong> and the measurements are <strong>80x 107mm<\/strong>. As for the <strong>minimum focusing distance<\/strong>, the Vazen 28mm T2.2 allows <strong>0.82m<\/strong> close-up and is a fairly wide lens having<strong> 72 degrees of horizontal view<\/strong>.   <\/p>\n<p>Anamorphic lenses give a lot of play in blurring, and Vazen highlights the kind of bokeh that is produced with their anamorphic lenses. A <strong>soft<\/strong>, <strong>oval<\/strong> <strong>bokeh<\/strong> that gives an even more cinematic look to images. Lens <strong>sharpness<\/strong> is also an aspect highlighted by its manufacturers, ensuring that sharpness is maintained even when <strong>wide open<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<p>The second anamorphic lens for micro four thirds on the market is <strong>priced at $3,250<\/strong>, just like the previous model (40mm).
