The new Fujinon lenses are now ready to meet the new “full frame” era with enormously versatile coverage of the most commonly used focal lengths.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Called the Premista range, the new PL mount lenses cover 28mm to 250mm<\/strong>, which seems to make them quite a viable option in a documentary type setting. Both lenses are matched for good color performance, as well as having identically positioned focus, zoom and iris rings, making it easy to swap lenses in setups using the follow focus wheels and matte boxes. <\/p>\n

The first lens to be launched this summer is the Premista 28-100mm T2.9<\/strong>, followed by the T2.9-3.5 80-250mm<\/strong> at the end of the year.<\/p>\n

The latter telephoto lens remains at a constant T2.9 up to 200 mm<\/strong>, and then gradually increases to T3.5 towards 250 mm<\/strong>, which is really impressive for such a lens.<\/p>\n

Both lenses cover a minimum image circle of 46.3 mm<\/strong>, which means they provide full coverage of all sensors used in existing film cameras.<\/p>\n

At 3.8kg they may seem heavy to those used to smaller DSLR-type cameras, but considering the sensor coverage, constant aperture and focal length covered, they could be considered ‘light’ zooms. This weight fact makes them even more impressive when you consider that both lenses weigh the same<\/strong>, something that normally seems wrong when it comes to longer focal lengths. <\/p>\n

These optics, which will cost around 35000\u20ac<\/strong> the cheapest one, are not suitable for every pocket but for the best rental houses.<\/p>\n
