The 100 mm joins the 28 mm f\/1.4, 55 mm f\/1.4 and the 85 mm f\/1.4. <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Otus series of lenses are all <strong>manual focus lenses<\/strong> and are available for Canon EF and Nikon F. With adapters they can easily be used on other camera systems.<\/p>\n<p>Although the Otus 100mm f\/1.4 was developed for 35mm full-frame cameras, ZEISS says the lens gives you <strong>the quality and look of a medium format system.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Because this lens is <strong>apochromatic<\/strong>, chromatic aberrations (axial chromatic aberrations) are corrected with special glass elements with anomalous partial dispersion. Chromatic aberrations are therefore significantly below the defined limits. ZEISS claims that bright-dark transitions in the image, and especially highlights, are reproduced almost completely <strong>without color artifacts<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.709mediaroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/zeiss-otus-100mm-f-1-4-dslr-lens-officially-announced.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-20037\" src=\"https:\/\/www.709mediaroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/zeiss-otus-100mm-f-1-4-dslr-lens-officially-announced.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"393\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Aberrations caused by extreme differences between shadows and reflections are particularly obvious in images captured at night. ZEISS says that thanks to excellent correction of lateral chromatic aberration, <strong>complex shots<\/strong> can be <strong>produced with absolute perfection<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>Light sources located in front of or behind the focusing plane present particular challenges for each lens. In the case of the ZEISS Otus, the <strong>longitudinal chromatic aberration is so low<\/strong> that virtually no color fringing occurs. <\/p>\n<p>ZEISS says the aspheric lens design <strong>ensures consistent imaging performance throughout the focusing range<\/strong>, as well as <strong>sharpness at the image periphery<\/strong>. The more complex surface profile of the sphere can reduce or eliminate spherical aberration and also reduces other optical aberrations compared to a simple lens. <\/p>\n<p>The official price has not been shown yet, but it could be <strong>between $4000 and $5000<\/strong>, if we take into account the rest of the lenses of the Otus series.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.709mediaroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Zeiss-Otus-100mm-f1.4-lens.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20038\" src=\"https:\/\/www.709mediaroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Zeiss-Otus-100mm-f1.4-lens.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"237\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The ZEISS Otus 100 mm f\/1.4 is the latest addition to the Otus line.
