Blackmagic URSA Broadcast<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Blackmagic Design<\/strong> presents to the market its new professional television camera Blackmagic URSA Broadcast. This model has been designed to have the possibility of using it with traditional equipment and systems, such as HD and UHD lenses that already have the tele-broadcasters. <\/p>\n

The new camera has up to 4 slots for SD and CFast 2.0 cards, two for each type. On the other hand, it can store content in 1080i or 2160p resolution in .mov or .mxf formats. Among the codecs available for image recording are ProRes, DNxHD 145 or DNxHD 220X with metadata, achieving 10-bit image recording. It is therefore compatible with virtually all existing transmission platforms and editing programs.<\/p>\n

Blackmagic URSA Broadcast has a B4 mount and an integrated 4K sensor, providing greater depth of field. This sensor is designed to capture HD and UHD images. It can process images at a maximum resolution of 2160p60 with a single cable. It also includes a new extended video mode with improved dynamic range and color fidelity. The mount includes an optical system with spherical aberration correction, specifically designed for the integrated sensor. The \u2154” mount gives the possibility to employ both HD and UHD lenses. This model features the B4 electronic lens control for adjusting parameters such as focus or zoom using an ATEM mixer or ATEM Camera Control Panel device. <\/p>\n

As for the exterior of this device, it has a liquid crystal display in addition to a folding touchscreen monitor. It also has XLR and SDI 12G connections and integrated stereo microphones. This model also includes neutral density filters with infrared compensation to reduce the amount of light entering the unit. These 1\/4, 1\/16 and 1\/64 step filters are designed in conjunction with the camera’s colorimetry to provide additional latitude, even in adverse lighting conditions. <\/p>\n

Finally, it includes an output for monitoring HD signals, an XLR input for balanced audio with phantom power, inputs for timecode and reference signals, and 2 LANC ports. The 12-pin Hirose connector allows connecting SD, HD and UHD targets used in broadcast, to be powered and controlled analog or digitally. It offers a 4-pin XLR output for 12V DC power and another for HD monitors to facilitate the use of Blackmagic viewfinders or other manufacturers’ equipment. <\/p>\n

Blackmagic URSA Broadcast is now available on its website<\/a> for the approximate price of around 3000 euros.<\/p>\n

DaVinci Resolve 14.3<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The new version of DaVinci has also arrived with a number of new features. These include support for the new URSA Broadcast and Venice\/CineAltaV camera RAW. It is also capable of reading Panasonic Varicam metadata when importing images, as well as support for exporting Sony color space and gamma metadata when encoding to MXF. RED SDK v7.0.6 support is included. The Timeline of the Edit section has also been improved for retina monitors. <\/p>\n
