{"id":55634,"date":"2015-06-27T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-06-26T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/709mediaroom.com\/new-version-of-avid-8-4-in-our-baselight-course\/"},"modified":"2025-05-04T11:53:52","modified_gmt":"2025-05-04T09:53:52","slug":"new-version-of-avid-8-4-in-our-baselight-course","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/709mediaroom.com\/en\/new-version-of-avid-8-4-in-our-baselight-course\/","title":{"rendered":"New version of Avid 8.4 in our Baselight course"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Next week, on July 1 and 2, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.709mediaroom.com\/cursos-online\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Baselight Online Course for Avid 4K<\/a> will take place, where the latest version of the renowned editing system <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avid.com\/ES\/products\/family\/Media-Composer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Avid Media Composer<\/a> will be used.<\/p>\n<p>The v8.4 was released just two days ago, of which it is worth mentioning the possibility of creating projects with customized resolutions, being the minimum size 256&#215;128 and the maximum 8192&#215;8192. For those of you who work in s3D and want to make a project of this type, you must take into account that the height must be divisible by 4 and the width by 8. <\/p>\n<p>This version adds a new feature to the timeline called &#8220;Quick Find&#8221;, which allows us to perform quick searches through the timeline with different filtering options. Also included for the timeline are adapters, which indicate with a T, an S or a C whether the clips have temporal, spatial or color changes (respectively). <\/p>\n<p>As for the user interface, we will see that we can now vary the size of the &#8220;source\/record&#8221; monitors, making one much larger than the other or even activate the &#8220;Show Single\/Dual Monitor&#8221; option (within the Special menu) to have only one of the two.<\/p>\n<p>You will notice another change in terminology, as all AMA functions will now be seen as &#8220;Link&#8221;. And in the &#8220;Link&#8221; settings we can change the default input format, choosing between &#8220;Pillarbox\/Letterbox&#8221;, &#8220;Center Crop&#8221;, &#8220;Center Keep Size&#8221; or &#8220;Stretch&#8221;. In addition, there is a setting that allows you to view SD clips in 16:9 directly.  <\/p>\n<p>As almost every time there is an update, there is new native support; in this case for Sony XAVC-I (with the Sony AMA plugin) and ProRes 2K, 4K and UHD.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the aforementioned features, here are some of the other new features added in the 8.4 update:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alpha channel support in QuickTime DNxHR files.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain the source frame rate in transcodings of HD and SD projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Changes in color terminology; old RGB and 601\/709 are renamed &#8220;Do not modify, treat as legal range&#8221; and &#8220;Scale from full range to legal range&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Remove color adapters from a sequence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Refresh the sequence with the new &#8220;Refresh Sequence ALL&#8221; button.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Subtitle display on all monitors (source, recording, pop-up) and on the D-track.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Including AAX factory presets used in ProTools in MC&#8217;s &#8220;Audio Track Effects&#8221; and &#8220;Audio Suite Effects&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Option to add inactive audio tracks to the export.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor four audio channels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Support for AMD FirePro W7100 and w8100 GPUs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/709mediaroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/MC84_Color-Levels.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13717\" src=\"http:\/\/709mediaroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/MC84_Color-Levels.jpg\" alt=\"MC84_Color-Levels\" width=\"560\" height=\"110\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/www.avidblogs.com\/es\/media-composer-8-4-ya-disponible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this article<\/a> you have all the new features in detail and with graphical examples.
