A few days ago Canon<\/a> announced that it would launch its new generation of C100 cameras in December, called the EOS C100<\/a> Mark II. EOS C100 Mark II<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The design<\/h4>\n

This camera keeps the same Super 35 sensor as its predecessor and comes with Canon’s Digic DV4 image processor. The DV4 improves image quality by separating the RGB output into three individual 8 megapixel signals, instead of the 2 megapixels used in the processor of the original C100. In addition, a new debayering algorithm has been included to reduce the occurrence of noise and moir\u00e9. <\/p>\n

The design has been revamped with a 3.5″ OLED display replacing the LCD panel and a new LCD viewfinder, with a larger 0.45″ display that can be tilted and accommodated in a larger eyepiece. In addition, the OLED is located on the side, rather than at the top, giving the operator more viewing options. <\/p>\n

A joystick control for menu navigation has also been included and a mono microphone has been integrated into the camera body for use when the top handle is not attached, so that camera audio can be easily picked up.<\/p>\n

New recording options<\/h4>\n

The company has expanded the recording capabilities by incorporating the MP4 format, which joins the existing AVCHD format with speeds increased to 59.94 fps. Thanks to the two slots, we can use one of the cards to record in AVCHD and the other to record our images in MP4 simultaneously; although, of course, the two cards can also be used by switching from one to the other in a conventional recording.<\/p>\n

Another improvement is in the transfer rate. While the original models only achieved 24Mbps, the new C100 Mark II can reach up to 28Mbps with the AVCHD codec or up to 35Mbps when using MP4. <\/p>\n
