{"id":56897,"date":"2014-03-10T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-03-09T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/709mediaroom.com\/sony-introduces-its-new-axs-cards\/"},"modified":"2025-05-05T08:37:38","modified_gmt":"2025-05-05T06:37:38","slug":"sony-introduces-its-new-axs-cards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/709mediaroom.com\/en\/sony-introduces-its-new-axs-cards\/","title":{"rendered":"Sony introduces its new AXS cards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With an eye on NAB, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sony.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sony<\/a> has just unveiled its new AXS series of cards for RAW recording in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sony.es\/pro\/product\/broadcast-products-camcorders-digital-motion-picture-camera\/pmw-f5\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">F5<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sony.es\/pro\/product\/broadcast-products-camcorders-digital-motion-picture-camera\/pmw-f55\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">F55<\/a> cameras.<\/p>\n<p>This line (&#8220;A-Series&#8221;) improves on the performance of its predecessors, the original 512 GB AXS (AXS-512S24), and has been reduced in size to be the same size as the SxS cards.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/709mediaroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/CardAdapter_AXSM.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9737\" alt=\"CardAdapter_AXSM\" src=\"http:\/\/709mediaroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/CardAdapter_AXSM.jpeg\" width=\"296\" height=\"201\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to an adapter, they will be able to work with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sony.es\/pro\/product\/broadcast-products-camcorders-camera-adaptors\/axs-r5\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AXS-R5<\/a> recorder, designed for recording material from the F5, F55 and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sony.es\/pro\/product\/broadcast-products-camcorders-digital-motion-picture-camera\/nex-fs700ek\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FS700<\/a>, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/pro.sony.com\/bbsc\/ssr\/product-AXSCR1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AXS-CR1<\/a> USB 3 card reader.<\/p>\n<p>The next generation AXS are fast enough to record in 4K resolution up to 60p or in 2K up to 240p, with a write speed of 2.4 Gbps.<\/p>\n<p>Two models, a 512 GB (AXS-A512S24) and a 1TB (AXS-A1TS24) model for those who need longer recording times, are expected to be released very soon.
