{"id":56908,"date":"2014-03-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-03-16T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/709mediaroom.com\/prores-and-dnxhd-support-for-sony-f5-and-f55-cameras\/"},"modified":"2025-05-05T08:37:54","modified_gmt":"2025-05-05T06:37:54","slug":"prores-and-dnxhd-support-for-sony-f5-and-f55-cameras","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/709mediaroom.com\/en\/prores-and-dnxhd-support-for-sony-f5-and-f55-cameras\/","title":{"rendered":"ProRes and DNxHD support for Sony F5 and F55 cameras"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sony.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sony<\/a> has released a statement announcing an upcoming update to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sony.es\/pro\/product\/broadcast-products-camcorders-digital-motion-picture-camera\/pmw-f5\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">F5<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sony.es\/pro\/product\/broadcast-products-camcorders-digital-motion-picture-camera\/pmw-f55\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">F55<\/a> cameras that will feature support for internal recording in Apple <strong>ProRes<\/strong> and Avid <strong>DNxHD<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>These codecs are the most widely used in editing and, although the company has not yet specified which of the entire family will be available, they will speed up workflows for post-production.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to ProRes and DNxHD, Sony already includes other codecs such as XAVC, MPEG2 and SR, as well as RAW recording when using the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sony.es\/pro\/product\/broadcast-products-camcorders-camera-adaptors\/axs-r5\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AXS-R5<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/709mediaroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Sony_ProRes_DNxHD-scaled.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9794\" alt=\"Sony_ProRes_DNxHD\" src=\"http:\/\/709mediaroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Sony_ProRes_DNxHD-scaled.jpeg\" width=\"387\" height=\"206\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With this development, the company wants to meet the demands of its users for the greatest possible flexibility.
