During the last days of Easter Apple<\/a> has released an update of its well-known Final Cut Pro X<\/a> editing system, reaching version 10.0.8.<\/p>\n

Most affected by this update will be Sony<\/a> users, who are likely to be happier from now on thanks to new support for the XAVC codec, introduced last year along with the F5<\/a> and F55<\/a> cameras. Final Cut will now support files up to 4K resolution from the F55. <\/p>\n

Another new feature is an integrated option that will improve workflows with the ARRI Alexa<\/a> camera, allowing you to view your ProRes Log C files with a Rec. 709 profile and the resulting color and contrast levels. <\/p>\n

Also added is the ability to use keyboard shortcuts to adjust “Clip Appearance” settings in the timeline; as well as to view reel number metadata located in the timecode track of video files.<\/p>\n

Regarding audio, thanks to this update, files with mono audio in a surround sound project will be exported with the correct volume levels.<\/p>\n

Now the drag zones will no longer be reset at the first video frame after restarting the system.<\/p>\n

The rest of the changes in this version are dedicated to the resolution of problems that arose in the previous version, such as effects that generated green frames during rendering; the “Play Around” function that did not work properly in some clips when viewed from external devices; or performance problems that occurred with certain titles and effects or resulting from the selection of multiple ranges in a single clip.<\/p>\n

In addition, these latest fixes also bring good news for users of Magic Bullet Looks<\/a> and Mojo<\/a> (both Red Giant<\/a> applications), as issues<\/a> that caused these software to malfunction have been fixed.<\/p>\n
