Recently Sony has released <a href=\"http:\/\/community.sony.com\/t5\/F5-F55\/NEW-firmware-update-v1-2-Major-release\/m-p\/153943#U153943\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">firmware update 1.2<\/a>, adding SR codec recording (in 422 or 444) on SxS cards. <\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s why today we bring you this new tutorial<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.abelcine.com\/2013\/07\/30\/working-with-sr-codec-on-the-f5-f55\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(originally published by AbelCine<\/a>), which complements the previous one and will help you to use the codec with different editing systems.<\/p>\n<p>For those of you unfamiliar with the codec, it is the same HD recording format that was found on HDCAM SR tapes, and has compression with no apparent visual loss.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/709mediaroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Avid6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-8341\" alt=\"Avid6\" src=\"http:\/\/709mediaroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Avid6.jpg\" width=\"325\" height=\"256\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Working with the SR codec requires a couple of additional software and plugins.
