Dolby Laboratories<\/a> and Royal Philips Electronics<\/a> have teamed up to introduce Dolby 3D, a set of technologies and an HD 3D format.<\/p>\n

Utilizing Philips’ expertise in 3D technology and Dolby’s experience in recording methods, the two companies have worked together to enhance the 3D viewing experience on any size screen, including glasses-free viewing.<\/p>\n

Dolby 3D is a format that allows to reproduce 3D in HD on televisions, computers, smartphones and tablets (as long as their screens are ready for it); in a much more comfortable way, by not having to use glasses, and therefore opening new possibilities to the market.<\/p>\n

It is a system designed to work throughout the entire process, with the addition of tools for 3D content creation, real-time conversion and title insertion.<\/p>\n

The project will focus on continuing to collaborate with display and entertainment device manufacturers to make 3D viewing a regular experience in our lives, just as 2D is now.<\/p>\n

In addition to Dolby 3D, Dolby also recently added the PRM-4200 professional monitor to its product line.<\/p>\n

It is a reference monitor intended for colorists and cinematographers to see the final result of their image with great precision and fidelity. These are some of its features: <\/p>\n

– High precision in contrast, black detail and throughout the grayscale.<\/p>\n

– Displays all high definition formats and 2K content.<\/p>\n

– Capable of emulating different color spaces, including DCI P3.<\/p>\n

– It has all the dynamic range that the latest digital cameras can capture.<\/p>\n

– Accepts 10-bit or 12-bit formats.<\/p>\n

– Support and preview of LUTs.<\/p>\n

In addition, it also includes an external remote control through which all its functions can be operated.<\/p>\n

The price for this 42-inch (diagonal), LCD flat panel (1920×1080), 120 Hz refresh rate monitor is $39,995.<\/p>\n
