VariCam-LT-Photo-HDLOC-France-5

The new firmware (version 6) for Panasonic’ s VariCam LT 4K camera has been released . This camera, which was born for cinematographic purposes, through this update, allows setting up multiple cameras for a live (or fake live in its absence), such as concerts, events or television programs. These fake live productions, users will be able to enjoy 4K capture through the internal P2 recording. Panasonic wants to highlight the VariCam LT over other broadcast cameras as it features a larger sensor size, 14 levels of dynamic range support for HDR, as well as low-light capture using the dual native ISO 800/5000 function.

Advantages of firmware 6.0

Thanks to version 6 of the firmware, the VariCam LT will have a shading mode (being able to record V-Log in the camera itself, as well as to make the chromatic correction live from the camera), a tally and even a management of the return video. On the other hand, if you decide to make a multi-camera production, these can be controlled from the remote panelAK-HRP1000 designed by Panasonic. At the same time, the firmware facilitates further control of the RCP, such as management of LUTs and CDLs, scene file selection, and even the call function. In addition, if a computer is used for live control, LUTs can be loaded remotely.

The Varicam LT camera has two independent SDI outputs. A fiber transmission can be realized thanks to the transport systems of DTS, ERECA, Multidyne…
