SLR Magic has announced its two new MicroPrime CINE lenses of 17mm T 1.5 y 35mm T1.5 for M4/3 mount mirrorless cameras. The two new models come to market with design tweaks and optical enhancements. The CINE MicroPrime lens series now comprises a set of 6 lenses in addition to the previous 4: 12mm T2.8, 21mm T2.6, 25mm T1.5 and 50mm T1.6.

These lenses are intended for cinema use and are compatible with cameras such as the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K or Panasonic GH5 DSLRs. The MicroPrime CINE range lenses are fully manual and have a micro four thirds mount.

In the case of the 17mm T1.5 it has a 32mm image circle and is composed of 9 elements organized in 8optical groups. The 35mm T1.5 shares with the wide angle the 32mm image circle but has a different design with 7 elements organized in 6 groups. Both have an internal focusing mechanism and feature 0.8mm pitch gears, a recognized and standardized measurement in the market. It is found on both the focus and aperture rings. They have a minimum aperture of 16mm although the diaphragm design varies slightly between the 2 lenses. The 17mm is composed of 11 blades and the 35mm of 10.

We can add filters to the MicroPrime Cine and they share again the same structure with a front diameter of 85mm and an internal thread of 82mm, the filter holder being fixed, i.e. it does not rotate when focusing.

At the moment this is all we know about these 2 new lenses from SLR Magic, as neither the release date nor the price of the lenses has been disclosed.
