Blackmagic continues to launch 3 new 3G micro converters that allow connection between HDMI equipment and SDI systems. All 3 new models feature a small but rugged design for use anywhere. These 3G micro converters feature 3G SDI connections to process SD or HD formats at resolutions up to 1080p 60 fps. They can also process images at 8-bit or 10-bit color depth in RGB or YUV in either SD or HD.
The design of Blackmagic’s new 3G Micro converters share the same electronic makeupas the high-end models, meeting the requirements for global broadcasting. All 3 support timecode and embedded audio.
Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 3G: Designed mainly for monitoring and supervision of signals. With it you can calibrate monitors, projectors or televisions and has a 17-point conversion table for 3D LUTs. With it we can visualize the signal by SDI with the LUT included. It is compatible with DCI formats in 1080p 24, 47.95 and 48.
If you are looking to connect HDMI cameras to SDI devices, the MicroConverter HDMI to SDI 3G is the optimal model. Unlike other similar converters on the market, Blackmagic’s converter supports cinema formats such as 1080p24, 1080p47 and 1080p48. It has two 3G SDI outputs.
The third and last model is a “combination” of the two previous models by allowing bi-directional processing to achieve HDMI signals from SDI sources, and vice versa. Thanks to its design, the Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 3G is the most compact converter on the market and is compatible with the camera control protocol.
The new 3G Micro converters have a USB port from which they can be connected to a TV or computer to charge them or simply change and customize some settings. An external power supply with 4 universal adapters can be purchased separately.
