New ARRI Signature Zoom

ARRI’s Signature Prime line of lenses has been joined by the new Siganture Zoom line of lenses. Siganture Zoom lenses for full-frame Super 35 format. These lenses are described by the manufacturers as “The industry’s largest zoom range“.

These new lenses feature a cine zoom system capable of natural images with higher quality than ever before. They can boast of being zoom lenses with the same image quality throughout the entire focal length. And just like Prime lenses, they are characterized by smooth skin tones, eliminate chromatic aberration as much as possible, and maintain constant exposure at any range.

Signature Zoom lenses are designed to speed up work on set and avoid constantly changing lenses. They are more versatile and can be used in more situations. The fact that they can be used on any camera, even Full Frame, makes them more versatile. They are also designed to work with them in HDR thanks to their excellent color reproduction and shadow detail. And thinking in the near future, it will also be possible to work with them in 8K resolution.

All lenses in this family feature a fast T2.8 T-stop and the entire set covers the world’s largest focal length range. From 16mm to 300mm, or 5100mm if we count with the extender. There are four lenses covering this large focal range: 16-32mm, 24.75mm, 45-135mm and finally the 65.300mm.

To the latter can be added the ARRI Signature Zoom 1.7x extender to convert the 65-300mm into a 110-510mm T4.9. This system is a high-performance device that already worked with the Signature Prime 280 T2.8 and manages to maintain the optical performance of these two lenses.
