The brand Fotodiox has announced its latest release, an adapter for Fujifilm users to use Canon lenses through its new adapter. The new Fotodiox adapter is intended for Canon EF and EF-S lenses and Fujifilm GFX, which has a G-mount. According to the brand, the adapter not only makes the two brands compatible, but also features an ND filter and autofocus system.
We start with the integration of the neutral density filter made of optical polycarbonate. This is an integrated, variable ND filter ND2-256 capable of providing us with between 1 and 8 stops to control the light. For smooth light controls with the adapter, the Vizelex ND filter features a rotating ring, which is also compatible with different tracking options.
The adapter, as the name suggests, supports automated focus, aperture and image stabilization functions. Fotodiox has incorporated FUSION technology, which is responsible for communication between the lens and the Fujifilm body. These automated functions, as well as the transmission of EXIF data, are available on virtually all lenses, although the manufacturers recommend testing on each lens before use.
Another of the options it offers, and quite important, is the possibility of adapting the sensor to the lens depending on whether it is a full sensor or 35mm lens. Depending on the lens we are going to use, vignetting may occur in the image, as it does not cover the entire sensor area. To avoid this vignetting, and to be able to have access to the largest possible number of lenses, a button has been incorporated to allow us to switch between one or the other option.
The new Fotodiox Canon to FUJIFILM GFX autofocus adapter with variable ND has now gone on sale for $549.95.
