Atomos launches one of its most requested products, the Shinobi SDI.

Atomos continues to develop its range of monitors to cater to a wider variety of users with the new Shinobi SDI monitor.

Atomos’ new 5.2″ monitor is based on the recently released Shinobi model but offers more input and output options. Like the previous Shinobi, the new model is not a recorder, but rather an HDR monitor with the same 1000 nits brightness level and overall interface. As with the previous models, the new Shinobi SDI weighs quite little, about 226g without batteries.

However, the previous model was limited to HDMI, which meant that users of cameras providing SDI output who wanted a more robust SDI connection and needed the SDI performance of the Atomos monitor directly requested a separate monitor with SDI input.

The new Shinobi SDI solves this problem by providing both HD-SDI input and output. Needless to say, SDI is actually a much more robust connection than HDMI, as it features the lockable cable system. Therefore, the new monitor will be much more suitable for general production environments on set. Similarly, the new monitor also features a 4K HDMI input, which can be used with any type of camera when needed.

Like the original Shinobi, the anti-glare display is factory calibrated to a fairly accurate color and has the additional option of field calibration.

It is already available at a price of 499$, in its website you will find all the information to purchase it in your country.
