Three times faster rendering
Toolfarm presents a new plug-in for Adobe’s After Effects. Using a single computer, it is able to take advantage of the program’s multiple processing to render the work much faster, reaching a performance of 300% more efficient.
On the other hand, it presents the possibility of having unlimited rendering nodes. This makes it more efficient to use multiple systems on a single network. A clear example of its usefulness is when rendering large QuickTime movies, AVI movies or warp speed image sequences. Because the plug-in runs in the background, it allows users to continue working without constant interruptions. Another advantage is the possibility of automatic post-render transcoding for MP4 and QuickTime movies.
A “weighty” solution
This “render farm” was born out of the multi-user After Effects project in Swordfish. Matt Silverman, CEO of Mekajiki, says that this result was born out of a deliberate search for a rendering tool for large files. This search was prompted by his team at Swordfish, who work with 6K files and did not have the ability to access the internal render farm.
Working with large files often puts a lot of strain on the system processor, especially when working with 3D creation projects or combining several programs such as Cinema 4D or After Effects.
