Automatic calibration at LG | CES 2018

Right now in Las Vegas takes place the CES 2018(Consumer Technology Association) LG company is one of the many that presents its new releases, and among them presents the automatic calibration in its new monitors. Professional software has been incorporated so that it is directly integrated into the monitor. This is industry-standard CalMan (from SpectraCal Industry, which is part of Portrait Dispalys).

First of all, this automatic calibration allows CalMan to directly access the internal 3D look-up tables (LUTs) of the TVs. This makes very precise adjustments to color performance available. In turn, LG’s automatic calibration with CalMan AutoCal calibrates standard dynamic range (SDR), HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG.

LG will be showing at CES 2018 automatic calibration using a preliminary version of CalMan with this feature, which is already available for many Samsung TVs, which we talked about in previous posts. This software is scheduled to be released at the same time as the 2018 LG OLED and Super UHD TVs.
