A few days ago Autodesk released 3ds Max Extension 2, a revamped version of its 3D modeling and animation system.
The new products are:
- Improvements in graphic creation: it will now be possible to create, manipulate and use masks and splines with new nodes; as well as import depth maps and simulation data with files such as CSV or Open VDB.
- Immediate access to the Print Studio, to export 3ds Max files to the 3D printer with a single click.
- Easy import of simulation data, allowing to animate the simulation in a precise way and to see the changes thanks to the 3ds Max lighting and rendering tools.
- Text and shape map: use objects such as a mask to create custom labels, graffiti and other text.
- Improvements in the text tool, where you will now find the font names inside the font type to find them faster.
- Object texture mask: to easily and accurately create, place and animate different materials, and use any mask to control the application of materials on an object.
