Matrox Video has announced the launch of its MicroQuad multiviewer, the first four-channel SDI-to-HDMI multiviewer under $1,000.
Since it was originally announced at this year’s NAB, new features and functions have been added to MicroQuad. It is a small, easy-to-use device that allows four SDI inputs to be monitored on a single screen with HDMI. These inputs can be 3G, HD and SD, and can be displayed either in split screen all four, or by switching to full screen (to view a single one) simply by pressing a button.
One of its advantages is that all controls are on the unit itself, so a computer is not required. Even so, it also includes a Windows-based application for remote control via a mini USB cable (type B).
Features include: a VU meter to give a visual indication of audio levels; the ability to create custom labels to identify each input; a 10-bit scaling engine with advanced filters; and a development library to integrate remote control functions.
Matrox MicroQuad will be shown at IBC 2012, September 7-9, and costs $995 (€799). Here you can see all its features.
