Available on Amazon, in two formats:
- the Kindle electronic version is sold for 8.39 euros.
- and in paper soft cover for 40,56 euros.
The book is a complete introductory course to DaVinci Resolve 14 covering the basics of video editing, sound post-production and color correction. It is written by Paul Saccone in technically accurate but easy to understand English. Paul Saccone has been Senior Director Marketing at Blackmagic Design since 2014 and was previously attached to Apple’s professional video division (Final Cut Pro).
The book is a step-by-step guide to the program in depth, which can be used both as a comprehensive training plan or as a reference book. It is true that as a reference book for professionals it falls a little short. For more detailed consultations, it will still be necessary to refer to the official manual , which is 1,346 pages long!
The paper edition is impeccable: good quality paper, large print, color photographs on all pages… really pleasant to read.
The content of the book is structured in 16 lessons:
Basic editing guide
- Quick guide: editing a one-minute video
- Organize a new project
- Basic editing
- Moving clips on the timeline
- Fine-tuning of the edition
- Transitions and effects
Audio editing

- Secondary corrections

Really recommended for editors with experience in other programs and who want to know DaVinci as a comprehensive tool for video editing, color correction and audio post-production. And also for beginners who are starting now with this discipline.
