Adobe’s new Project Rush

Adobe has announced a preview of a cross-platform video content creation application specifically for creating and sharing online content.

Project Rush

Fast video sharing, for both individuals and businesses, is a must today. Adobe’s new Project Rush is a cross-device video editing application that promises to make rapid creation and sharing of high-quality video to social networks on the go a breeze.

Code named Project Rush, it will incorporate motion graphics templates linked to various Adobe Pro applications and is based on Adobe Sensei for audio. Once the content has been created and edited, a simple click publishes the content to social networks.

Adobe notes that the app is aimed at those who want to “share videos online at a high frequency.” Such a description seems to fill an important niche in the way so much social media is created and published. Many creators in this niche simply don’t have the time, inclination or even the skills to create highly produced content. And, in fact, such a level may not be appropriate for the content they create. The ability to go beyond simply uploading a video from a mobile device can represent a huge improvement in the quality and storytelling ability of many creators.
In a typical project workflow, a user may begin editing a project on a desktop machine. Since the content will reside in the cloud, editing could continue on a phone or tablet. Templates can be added and customized. Then, one click will upload the content to the target destination.

Project Rush will be demonstrated at the upcoming VidCon conference in Anaheim and will launch this fall. Adobe is soliciting applications for beta testers, looking for those who are active online content creators.
