Navigating between the tabs on Arri’ s website we come to a section where you can find Alexa footage in all available codecs, resolutions and frame rates, as well as in spherical and anamorphic modes.
All clips are shot with an Alexa XT Plus and SUP 9.0 software version. For the 16:9 files an ARRI/Fujinon Alura Lightweight zoom was used, for the 4:3 anamorphic shots an ARRI/Zeiss Master Anamorphic 35mm lens and an ARRI Ultra Wide Zoom for the Open Gate clips.
Among the ProRes and DNxHD files available you will find files recorded with the LogC gamma curve or using the “ALEXA LCC” look in the Rec709 color space at 5600K.
Download
If you want to download these clips you have to use an FTP server (like FileZilla, for example) and enter the following keys:
- Host: ftp-footage.arri.de
- User: ALEXA
- Password: samplefootage
Once inside you will see a window like the one in the image above. There you have the files separated in folders by codec name (DNxHD, ProRes or ARRIRAW). As you will see the resolutions range from Full HD (1920×1080) to the new open window 3K (3414×2198) and each folder contains all available project speeds (23.976, 24, 25, 29.97 and 30fps), plus high speed clips.
It should be noted that these materials have been created for workflow evaluations, for example to test different LUTs or the performance offered in various editing systems.
We hope you find it useful and we remind you that if you want to learn more about this subject in March there will be a course on codecs, formats and workflows, and in June we will have a course on digital cinema cameras.
