As already announced during the Cannes Film Festival, the new Angenieux Optimo Prime optics can be seen during Cine Gear 2019.
Many brands are presenting their new products at Cine Gear 2019, as is the case of Tiffen and its new stabilizer. The Angenieux brand did not want to miss this opportunity and will be showing together with Band Pro Film & Digital. Inc its new line of Full Frame optics. They have been building high-end zoom lenses since 1951, but never before had they released a complete set of cinema lenses. The focal lengths included in the set range from 18mm to 200mm, with 21mm, 24mm, 28mm, 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 60mm, 75mm, 100mm and 135mm completing the range. In this way, they meet the needs of cinematographers, regardless of the audiovisual project they are working on.
Angenieux has also wanted to make the lenses compatible with the brands on the market and for this they have included an interchangeable rear mount with PL, LPL, Panavision XL, among others. With a 1.8 T-stop, they obtain a full circle image coverage of 46.5mm at all focal lengths on full frame sensors.
Their smart design allows them to be compatible with both Cooke/i and Arri LDS. They will maintain the brand’s famous aesthetics, making the most of Angenieux glass.
For the moment we will have to wait until autumn 2019 to see the first 6 lenses of this set: 21mm, 28mm, 40mm, 50mm, 75mm and 135mm. A second batch that will arrive towards the end of the year will include the 18mm, 32mm, and 100mm and it won’t be until 2020 when we will see the 24mm, 60mm and 200mm.
