Apple introduces the most powerful 8-core laptop in history

Apple introduces the new 15-inch MacBook Pro with eight cores and Intel Core i9 processor capable of reaching Turbo Boost speeds of 5GHz. The 13-inch version with Touch Bar will have four cores instead of eight and an Intel Core i8 processor.

With twice the performance of a quad-core MacBook Pro and forty times that of the six-core, they have achieved the most powerful laptop yet.

Apart from these eight cores, it also has a 500 nits retina display capable of supporting the P3 color gamut, faster SSDs, thunderbolt 3 ports for data transfer and the connection of up to 2 5K displays or four external GPUs. This makes it a very good choice for those working with high resolution images and 4K video.

For editors, with double the performance of the 15-inch MacBook Pro, they will be able to simultaneously play back eleven-track multi-camera streams of Apple ProRes RAW 4K in Final Cut Pro X.

For those who are dedicated to photo retouching, they will be able to use complex retouching techniques and filters in Photoshop with 75% faster editing speed.

Music and 3D scene composers will also be able to play multitrack projects with Alchemy plug-ins and render scenes twice as fast in Maya Arnold. Many professional developers also work with MacBook Pro, they will be able to write code in Xcode up to 65% faster than usual.

According to Apple’s senior director of product marketing, Tom Boger, it is a product for students as well as application developers or even video editors working on large productions.

The keyboards will also have improvements although they have not yet advanced much information. What we do know is that they will feature Touch ID controls with the Touch Bar and a larger Force Touch trackpad.

The sum of all this makes it the most powerful professional laptop on the market in history. Both the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro models are now available for purchase on the web.
