Just two months after releasing its latest version, Apple has just released an update to Final Cut Pro X: 10.0.4. However, this version does not include too many new features, as there are only improvements in system performance and no new features or tools.
In the monitoring function, added in version 10.0.3, image quality and speed have been increased using third-party PCIe and Thunderbolt input and output devices.
Another capability added in the latest version was multi-camera editing, which has now been improved in synchronization and in the editing itself.
They have also announced support for Simplified Chinese.
In addition to Final Cut X, Motion (5.0.3) and Compressor (4) have been updated. In both systems, an overall performance improvement has also been sought.
In Motion, the most notable features are a decrease in project loading time and improvements in text editing. In addition, problems with the display of anamorphic clips and some functions such as “Fill Opaque” and “Transform Glyph” have been resolved.
In Compressor 4, the encoding of mp4 and avi files has been improved. We have also added the ability to use Compressor as an encoder node on a Mac without a monitor and fixed the problem of exporting while logged in as an Open Directory user.
All three applications are available in the Apple Store.
Looking ahead to NAB, Apple has made it easy for the competition, as there are many other companies coming with very powerful tools, as we have been and will continue to announce in these days.
