Apple unveils new 16-inch MacBook Pro

Apple unveils its most powerful notebook to date, the 16-inch MacBook Pro. It comes to market with two versions but both share the 16-inch retina display and the new Magic Keyboard among other new features that we now discuss.

With the new 16-inch retina display the user experience will be customizable depending on the content you are working with or consuming to adapt the brightness and color to these. It is an IPS panel capable of reaching 500 nits of brightness. The resolution of the retina display is 3072 x 1920 with 5.9 million pixels and 226 ppi density. Ideal characteristics for audiovisual professionals.
The graphics card is designed to allow the user to perform tasks with high graphic demands. For this purpose, it has an AMD Radeon Pro 5000M, 80% more powerful than previous versions with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM.
Performance is improved thanks to the processors that have been incorporated into these two models. On the one hand there is the model with Intel Core i7 and Intel Core i9 with 6 and 8 cores respectively. More power and speed with 2.6 GHz and up to 64 Gb of RAM.
They also include improvements on the sound side by renewing the audio system. Six-speaker structure with subwoofers with force cancellation and wide reproduction of bass tones. It also incorporates microphones for recording but it is not an aspect to highlight from the technical aspect.
The keyboard is replaced by the new Magic Keyboard version with scissor structure and 1 millimeter of travel that improves the typing system compared to other MacBooks.
So much power needs new cooling system. The heat sink has been increased by 35% and the heat ventilation system has been improved by up to 28%. The battery of the MacBook Pro 16″ is also increased with up to 11 hours of autonomy. It has 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports, which will be compatible with the upcoming Pro Display XDR.
At the moment, both models can be ordered through Apple’ s website, although very soon we will see them in physical stores as well. Starting at €2,699 for the most basic model and depending on the type of processor and memory, the price will increase.
