Arri Amira, Canon C700 and more complements to be provided by Falco Films for the DIT course

Another year we have the pleasure of having one of the most important audiovisual equipment rental companies in the industry, Falco Films. We have been trusting them for many years and for this occasion, we wanted to make sure we work with the best. During the Data Wangler and DIT course we will be able to have several cameras so that everyone can work at the same time.

Thanks to the Falco Films team, we will be able to enjoy 2 greats of the industry, the Arri Amira and the Canon EOS C700 FF. They are two cameras known by almost everyone and two of the most used models in most productions.

The Arri Amira, updated to be able to shoot at 4K, uses the same sensor as its companion Arri Alexa. Some aspects that may interest us for the course, is the ability to record in REC709 or Log C for color grading on set. It is capable of recording in Apple ProRes 4444 on C-Fast cards. It has a latitude of 14 stops and can record at 200 frames per second in HD and 2K and 60fps in 4K.

On the other hand, the Canon EOS C700 has a Super 35mm and Super 16mm Full Frame CMOS sensor. It is also prepared for 4K and HDR recording. The Canon C700 has 15 stops of latitude, one more than the Arri Amira. The frame rate per second can reach 168 fps at 2048×1080. It is compatible with anamorphic lenses, increasingly used in productions, and the mount is EF Cinema type. Another aspect of the Canon C700’s image processing is that it supports ACES.

In addition to these two cameras, Falco’s colleagues will provide us with two 17″ OLED Sony LCD monitors to monitor the signals from the equipment and to review the practices that are being carried out.

As could not be missing, the lenses that will accompany the camera bodies, apart from the Fuji Cabrio 14-35mm and 19-90mm that we announced the other day, Falco Films will provide two Zeiss lenses: the 18mm and 100mm.
