The Dailies Player is ARRI Webgate‘s video player, tailored to the needs of filmmakers. The Dailies Player contains the key features of ARRI Webgate. From it, you can download them to your iPhone or iPad and watch them without the Internet. The videos are encapsulated in the app and cannot be copied from there.

In ARRI Webgate, metadata for all shots can be loaded with an ALE file. You can also filter all key metadata in the application, allowing you to view shots from a certain scene, shooting day, episode or reel. All filter functions are available in both online and offline mode. You can skip videos in 10-second steps, and fast-forward and rewind frame by frame. To check framing, inserted frame lines are available with all common aspect ratios.
You can also choose to have the source timecode of the clips displayed on the screen. Your preferred streaming resolution must be selected to suit your bandwidth, just as in ARRI Webgate.
According to ARRI, all data is just as secure in the Dailies Player application as in ARRI Webgate. Regular audits ensure your security. Access rights are identical to those in ARRI Webgate. If the project uses a standard watermark, all videos are transmitted with a burn-in throughout the project. For additional protection, a custom overlay can also be set for all users of the application, which overlays the user’s name on the video.
On the other hand you can watch the dailies on a TV in your hotel room at the end of the shooting day using the Mirror function. It allows you to play the dailies on the TV with a single click. All you need is an Apple TV. You decide whether to browse the project in normal Playlist view or Clip view. In Playlist view, the shots are generally available pre-ordered after a day of shooting. You can then change their arrangement if desired, e.g. sort them by scene order. Individual shots in a playlist are displayed with a thumbnail. You can navigate through a playlist quickly and easily by swiping your finger. If you want to see all metadata for all takes, switch to the Clip view. There, the playlist boundaries are removed and you are shown all scenes of a project.
