ASUS introduces PROART HDR OLED 4K HDR monitors

ASUS has not traditionally been a big name for photographers and video editors when it comes to monitors. While their motherboards, graphics cards and other components have been extremely popular for years, their monitors have not always been up to that standard.

However, they have improved significantly in recent years and ASUS has now stepped up to the plate by announcing its latest ProArt models. Two of them were on display at NAB 2019; the 21.6″ PQ22UC, a 10-bit HDR 4K OLED display with USB power, and the PA32UCX, a 32″ desktop monitor that also offers excellent specs for image and video editing.

ASUS PROART PA32UCX

The ASUS ProArt PA32UCX is a significant advancement over the existing ASUS ProArt PA32UC. Moving from UC to UCX, it gets three different HDR formats, including HDR-10, HLG and will be the first monitor to support Dolby Vision. The number of dimming “zones” has also seen an increase from 384 to over 1,000, to help increase the uniformity of light on the screen.

The ProArt PA32UCX is expected to arrive in July and cost $2,999.

ASUS PROART PQ22UC

It is a 21.6″ 4K OLED portable display that offers 100% sRGB, 100% Adobe RGB and 99% DCI-P3 in color. It also supports three different HDR formats including HDR-10, HLG and Dolby Vision. It is powered directly from USB Thunderbolt Type-C and supports video via USB, HDMI or DisplayPort.

The ProArt PQ22UC will also launch in July with a price tag of $3,999.
