Atomos Shogun already plays

Until now, the Atomos Shogun 4K recorder/monitor had one major shortcoming: playback.

At the time of launch, the company decided to take a risk by putting it on sale without having all the features it was supposed to have ready. Now, a firmware update has arrived that allows all users to view the material immediately.

These are all the added functions:

  • Reproduction.
  • Displacement picker.
  • Audio meters added to the playback.
  • Independent recording or mute for left and right analog channels while recording (for 48V).
  • The display input will notify when the video mode is not supported by the monitor.
  • Option to disable timecode output over HDMI for monitors that do not support it.
  • The Tally light now flashes when recording is in progress.
