Atomos updates its firmware OS 7.12

Atomos, developer of well-known recorders such as Shogun or Ninja, has released a free update for its firmware, the new OS 7.12.

This version comes with expanded support for logarithmic work, with HDR development in mind. Sony S-Log, Fujifilm Log and Canon C-Log 3 are now included, adding to the already supported logarithmic curves from Panasonic, JVC, Canon, Sony, RED and ARRI.

In addition, the company has initiated a rebate or trade-in program worth up to $500 on the AtomHDR range. There are different options for purchasing or refurbishing the various recorders in this series, but buyback options will be available only for the first 500 orders. The good news is that the rebate offers will run until January 31, 2017.
