The sound design application Audio Design Desk is a tool that has just launched its latest development incorporating artificial intelligence in the creative process of sound design. It is a tool that thanks to these new developments aims to change the way of working sound creation by reducing the time in a day.
Few are the news about new sound software, but in this case, the new Audio Design Desk tool seems to be a breakthrough in this sector, in fact it has been worth to be placed among the top 5 innovative companies of SXSW. First of all, please note that it is currently only available for Mac, so Windows or Linux users will not be able to access the trial version of Audio Design Desk.
The creative process of the sound of a film, series or documentary, is usually long and tedious because you have to design the music, adjust each of the effects and environments and this translates into days of work. Since the advent of artificial intelligence, few utilities have been given to the audiovisual sector, however, seems to have found a perfect accomplice in the field of sound. This technology allows images to be connected to music. It has more than 20,000 sound effects and music in its library. How does it work? Each sound has an identification “code” with a synchronization point marked with Sonic intelligence technology. When the effect is previewed on the timeline, it is automatically placed at the synchronization point with the image.
For sound editing, it is advisable to use the QWERTY keyboardwhich considerably accelerates the process, since it a function is assigned to each keyThe only thing you would have to do is to press the appropriate keys as the video is played to generate the sound mix. Just the time gained without having to search for effects, import them and play them one by one, is already a point in its favor. Once a first mix of sounds has been generated, the system recognizes the synchronization points y generates several options depending on the settings you have set. With AI, the machine learning game begins to offer the user the effects that the system considers most compatible and in line with the user’s tastes.
It has an infinite number of applications, from the possibility of composing musical pieces with the keyboard in sampler mode to the multicreation of simultaneous mixes to test different atmospheres in a sequence.
So far it has only been presented at professional meetings, but the reviews are very positive, so we will have to wait a little longer to have the full application, but for now they let us download the trial version.
