Autodesk has released 3ds Max 2020, the latest version of its 3D modeling, animation and rendering software. The new version revamps the user experience with customer-requested features that enable faster rendering speeds, optimize performance and increase flexibility.
“Whether creating a character for a movie or designing a building, we want 3ds Max users to have all the tools they need to achieve their artistic visions without compromising their creativity,” says Nicolas Fonta, senior 3ds Max and product line manager at Autodesk.
“3ds Max 2020 continues to focus on quality and stability like its predecessor, while introducing several enhancements that speed up the content creation process and free artists to focus on what matters most.”
Some of the highlights of 3ds Max 2020 include performance enhancements that support more accurate playback in Viewport Framerate and faster playback speeds with validity intervals. New animation creation preview features enhance the user experience and enable faster creation of local drives, plus AVI codec selection and unlimited capture resolution, among other capabilities.
The update already includes the integration of 3ds Max with Arnold (MaxToA) and helps to optimize workflows considerably. The new version will support more than 270 new plug-ins from third-party developers during the first week of release.
3ds Max 2020 is available today as a standalone subscription or with a collection of comprehensive creative tools within the Autodesk Media & Entertainment Collection.
