Apple ProRes is a post-production codec commonly used in editing to work in real time while maintaining the quality of the original material.

Some time ago, Final Cut editors were the ones that used to use this codec, but nowadays there are many cameras, recorders and encoding devices that support it.

In this video you will see how to work with ProRes files from Avid Media Composer or Symphony, and all the advantages and advances introduced in version 6. An example of this is the possibility of using AMA (Avid Media Access), which allows you to access the clips directly, without having to convert them. Also covered are relink, importing and some differences in the use of ProRes depending on whether you are on Mac or PC.
