Baselight 4.4 for Avid

After a long period of testing, the beta phase of Baselight for Avid 4.4 has ended to make way for the official Mac and Windows versions.

You can now find version 4.4.7293 on the FilmLight website, which comes with new features such as custom layer blending modes, integrated Truelight color spaces and new licenses for freelancers that provide greater flexibility.

The company has also prepared this tutorial, where you will understand the workflow to move the color-corrected clips from the color system to the editing system, whether they are integrated in the same machine or not. You can use an Avid AAF or the “Baselight Lens” tool, which takes the BLG files exported from Baselight to reconstruct the color corrections. In any case, these corrections travel in the form of metadata, so it is very easy to update the sequences with new corrections or directly retouch the parameters from the Avid plug-in.

If you were already a Baselight for Avid user, this upgrade is completely free; if not, you can purchase it here for $995 or download the 30-day trial.
