Digital Anarchy has announced version 4.0 of Beauty Box Video, its skin blemish removal plugin.
Beauty Box uses tools to automatically detect skin tones, create a mask and perform smoothing while maintaining texture. To achieve this “digital makeup”, the editor would only have to adjust the amount of smoothing he wants in the first frame.
According to the company, so far the only complaints received from users were related to speed. Therefore, they have implemented work with Nvidia‘s CUDA technology, improved Open CL support and acceleration when using AMD GPUs. These changes mean that rendering can practically be done in real time when working with new cards, such as the GTX 980.
Beauty Box Video 4.0 currently works with HD and 4K material on the following systems:
- After Effects
- Premiere Pro
- Final Cut Pro X
- Avid Media Composer
- DaVinci Resolve
- Scratch
- Other OpenFX applications
Here are two tutorials for getting started with Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve.
