Blackmagic acquires Teranex

By now I suppose that many of you have already heard that the Australian video company Blackmagic acquired the American company Teranex a few days ago. The latter is specialized since the 80’s in professional video conversion (via hardware), encoding and lately also 3D. Blackmagic has already announced its intention to incorporate Teranex technology in its products, so we are looking forward to the release of new Decklink with improved compression to DVD or Blue-Ray or the incorporation of 3D improvements in DaVinci Resolve.

At the moment the Teranex VC100 has already dropped from 90000$ to 19995$, let’s see when they will release a Lite version 🙂
