Blackmagic releases new accessory for Cintel

Blackmagic Design yesterday introduced a new KeyKode audio and number reader to complement one of its products, the Cintel scanner.

This is an accessory that allows you to digitize high quality audio as well as the information contained in the KeyKode directly from the negative, maintaining perfect synchronization between video and audio thanks to its advanced technology.

According to Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design, “This new KeyKode audio and number reader is ideal because it allows audio and images to be digitized at the same time, achieving perfect synchronization. It also extracts the information contained in the KeyKode code, which streamlines the workflow in post-production”.

This reader has a 16/35 mm magnetic tape head with LED illumination. And among other features, it also has electronically formed grooves, as well as an encoder that corrects jitter and tremolo.

This scanner is now available for $3495 from the official Blackmagic Design website, where Cintel can also be purchased for $27,245. With the purchase of this film scanner, DaVinci Resolve Studio is also included.
