Blackmagic Video Assist has new features

It seems that these weeks are being the time for recorders/monitors; while we have told you about the new AJA Ki Pro Ultra and the update for Convergent Design’s Odyssey, today it’s Blackmagic’ s turn with its Video Assist.

The Video Assist is a recorder capable of capturing HD images in ProRes or DNxHD (10-bit) on SD cards and via HDMI or SDI. It has an easy-to-use 5-inch screen and Full HD resolution.

Blackmagic Design has just updated it by adding the following features:

  • Indication for Focus Peaking
  • Zebra indicator for diaphragm adjustment
  • Central zoom to aid focusing
  • Time code via HDMI
  • Improved battery information
  • Performance and stability improvements

You can download the new Video Assist firmware from the Blackmagic support page.
