Video card manufacturer Bluefish444 has released an installer for Apple Mac that will support Avid Open I/O and Assimilate Scratch software. It will do so through the Create and Epoch line of cards, offering the opportunity to work on both Windows and Mac OS X 10.8 operating systems.
Avid Open I/O
Create is a line of Bluefish444 video cards certified by Avid for Open I/O on OS X 10.7 operating systems. Now, thanks to this 8.6.0 installer, SDI I/O support has been added for Bluefish444 and for the latest OS X 10.8.
The new functionality offers the following qualities:
– Hardware scaling to prepare quality modes.
– Conversions between YUV/RGB color spaces with 12-bit accuracy.
– AES and analog audio mapping.
– Support for SDI capture, preview and Digital Cut.
– HDMI video preview.
Supported Avid versions are Media Composer and Symphony v6 or v6.5.
Assimilate Scratch Finish and Scratch Lab
The 8.6.0 installer is the first installer released for OS X 10 and provides many of the features of the Windows plugin for use with Bluefish444’s Epoch cards, HD-SDI solutions.
SDI support added to Scratch Finish and Scratch Lab (versions 6.2 and 7) includes:
– Conversions between YUV/RGB color spaces with 12-bit accuracy.
– HD-SDI preview at 8, 10 or 12-bit.
– SD, HD and 2K video support.
– Dual-Link RGB 4:4:4:4 HD-SDI.
– Single-Link RGB 4:2:2 HD-SDI.
– HDMI video preview.
