borisfx

Boris FX ‘s new Continuum VR Unit offers five useful and fast filters for professional reframing, editing and finishing of 360° video. Now through May 31, 2018, Boris FX is offering the Continuum VR Unit as a free giveaway (a $199 value).

“Editors new to Boris FX software will find that these high-quality filters complement the existing 360° tools found in Premiere, After Effects and FCP X; however, an additional benefit of the Continuum VR unit is its ability to deliver 360° workflow to systems that do not natively support 360°, such as Avid Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve.

Ross Shain, Product Manager, Boris FX.

Continuum VR

The Continuum VR unit delivers professional results with fast GPU-accelerated rendering. The five filters are: VR Reorient to reposition or center hero views; VR Insert to add titles, graphics and 2D elements to the 360° spherical workspace; VR Sharpen to apply the best quality 360° video sharpening available using state-of-the-art algorithms; VR Flicker Fixer to eliminate or reduce luminance flicker with a simple click; and VR Blur to add fast, high-quality blurs optimized for 360° spherical video.

Customers are already enthusiastic about the 360° editing toolset:

“When working in 8k, stereo 360° video files, we need robust tools. The new Continuum VR unit within Adobe is extremely useful for professional 360 videos. We recently used Continuum 11 on a 360 / VR stereoscopic project for Vogue and Google and the VR Insert and VR Sharpen filters are very intuitive and remove quickly! ”

Lewis Smithingham, president of VR, 30 Ninjas.

The Continuum VR unit builds on the success of Mocha VR, the award-winning 360° toolset for advanced effects and finishing tasks such as camera stabilization, object removal, nadir patching, tracking and masking, also developed by Boris FX. Together, Continuum VR and Mocha VR give 360/VR editors and artists a powerful and optimized workflow to work more easily and within 360° project timelines.
