Canon announces two new 4K monitors

Canon has announced two new professional 4K/UHD (Ultra High Definition) monitors.

Both feature the company’s proprietary image processing technology, as well as a proprietary backlight system and IPS LCD panel.

The specific models are as follows:

  • DP-V2420DP-V2420: a 4K reference monitor, with a size of 24 inches and designed to work in HDR, due to its high luminance level and support for HDR standards.
  • DP-V1710: a 17-inch, 4K reference monitor with a 3840 x 2160 resolution display (i.e. it’s UHD), intended for work on set, studio or broadcast. In addition, like its companion, it is capable of supporting HDR standards.

These monitors (DP-V2420 and DP-V1710) are expected to be released in November 2016 and February 2017, for prices of $32,900 and $13,500 respectively.
