CC-3D stereoscopic color corrector

Eyeheight, a company dedicated to providing solutions for the post-production and broadcast markets, is releasing a color corrector capable of correcting the two images generated in 3D through a common control, without the need to go through software solutions.

The Eyeheight CC-3D is multi-rate and is designed for use in broadcast, post-production and broadcast center environments, with the creators ensuring that all adjustments made will affect the left and right channels in exactly the same way.

When correcting stereoscopic images there is a double difficulty, since, in addition to having to match each plane with the next, two images belonging to the same plane have to be matched. Therefore, being able to modify them by means of a common control will be a great advance in the 3D color correction work system. Performing corrections by hardware will improve quality and speed.

The CC-3D allows you to correct the master gain and the R, G and B parameters. You can also select to make corrections for the whole image or to treat the gamma control of R, G, B separately. Luminance, chrominance, tone rotation or black level can be modified.

The signals to which it allows to work are:

– 1080i, at 50 or 59.94.

– 1080p high definition, at 23.976; 24; 25 and 29.97.

– 720p intermediate definition, at 50 or 59.94.

– For standard definition, 625/50 or 525/59.94.

It works at 16 bits giving an output at 10.

It includes a built-in legalizer, which allows the settings made to be within the recommended signal levels according to EBU (European Broadcasting Union) standard R103-2000.

To enter these settings, you can use the presets already included or change the parameters and store them in six possible memories.

It is housed in a single chassis and can be operated from the Eyeheight FP-9C controller. A single controller (via CAT5, Ethernet) can also be connected to several CC-3Ds and operate them at the same time.

We will be able to see the CC-3D for the first time at the British fair BVE (Broadcast Video Expo), to be held from February 14 to 16 in London. Until then, you can read the official press release here.
