Chroma key lighting and postproduction course in raw and log October 2013

the-great-gatsby-vfx

The chroma key keying technique has been with us for a long time and we all more or less know how to apply it in camera or postproduction. However, given the latest raw and log technologies, many doubts are arising regarding the exposure and future postproduction of the material: is it better to expose in log or linear? what value should we expose the skin to? what about the background green? how should we postproduce a raw chroma key? what should we send to the colorist after integration?

All these and many other questions will be answered in this short and intensive course. First we will explain the necessary theory to understand what a chroma key is and how to pre-produce and light the material to be embedded. After this, real exercises will be done recording in different media (raw, log, 709…) that will be later integrated using different postproduction tools. A key course to learn how to use a technique that is only improving nowadays.
