Cinedeck, developers of video capture and broadcast devices, has announced the new Cinedeck MX, a multi-channel recorder that offers a wide range of codec versatility and post-production facilities.
In addition to recording, it also serves for monitoring and playback. When capturing, there is a wide variety of native codecs that can be used to facilitate the ingest and transcoding processes. It also has multiple encoding options in the input channels, with possible real-time conversions; great versatility in multi-camera and 2D or s3D projects can be made.
For its monitoring function it has included waveforms, vectorscope, histogram and a focus tool.
Among the supported codecs are: DNxHD and DNx444, ProRes 4444, XDCAM, DVCPRO-HD, H.264 or DPX.
It will go on sale this summer, for $43,390, and will be marketed with Cinedeck Controller, an application that can be operated from any PC.
