Coming soon: Nuke 10

The Foundry has announced that we will soon be able to see version 10 of Nuke, its renowned VFX and compositing system.

This update will be released in early 2016 and focuses on improving performance, increasing stability and fixing some system bugs, although it will of course bring new functionality in the areas of paint, render, playback and export.

To simplify color management, integration with OpenColorIO has been added,

Designers will now be able to work with a new processor for 3D ray tracing, which allows them to natively create reflections and deliver higher quality output.

NUKEX and Nuke Studio will feature the new Smart Paint toolset, which allows you to add textures or paint over image sequences containing complex movements or subtle details.

Nuke Studio also comes with new tools in the timeline, such as effects like the real-time keyer. Audio handling and overall performance have also been improved.
