Blackmagic Design has released the official version of its DaVinci Resolve 10 color correction system. Since its introduction in April we have been informing you about the key points of this update, such as the many added editing features, the integration with EasyDCP or the support of OpenFX plugins.
During IBC we also told you about the first impressions Luis Ochoa (director of 709 Media Room) got from his first contact with version 10, as well as other features discovered. The full upgrade is now available free of charge for existing Resolve 9 users. In addition the Lite version (free) can be downloaded for both Mac and Windows and one of its new features is the ability to render at 2K (as opposed to the previous 1080), as we already announced together with the Beta 3 release.
Plug-in manufacturers have already started to make their products compatible with DaVinci. This is the case of FilmConvert, an emulator of the old photochemical for current digital cameras with the ability to mimic the color and texture of films such as Kodak.
Although it previously existed as a stand-alone software or plugin for Adobe’s Final Cut Pro and Sony Vegas systems, it now enters the market as an OFX plugin.
If you want to try it within the latest version of DaVinci Resolve you can download the trial from this link, or buy it for $199.
